The web-based software would not only help record management of Law Wing but would also provide a continuous check on the performance of counsels pursuing cases pertaining to authority in different courts.
The initiative has been taken in line with the efforts of the authority to streamline the working pattern in the law wing to maximize its output.
The newly developed web-based software will provide access to directors, directors general and members to check status of the cases pertaining to their wings and formations, while a dashboard would be also created for the top management.
The dashboard would contain the status of the case, stay orders, appeal if required, replies, name of counsel and other updates regarding cases in different courts of law.
In order to gauge the performance of counsels on the panel of the authority, the performance record of all counsels would be also accessible through this software. Furthermore, a messaging service has also been created for intimating the next date of hearing of cases.
In this connection, instructions have been issued to feed data within 15 days so that the software could be made properly functional. It has been further instructed that software should have a feature of highlighting / alerts about the cases where the appeal is required as well as next date of hearing.
Instructions have been further issued that cases pending in different courts of law be actively pursued and appeals be filed well in time and where delay has occurred, condonation may be sought for filing appeals.
In addition to introducing technology-based initiative, the authority is also strengthening the law wing by providing more incentives. In this connection, Law Wing has been directed to submit proposals regarding revision of case fees of counsels and advisers.
ICTA offers kitchen gardening
The Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA) has decided to provide technical assistance to people for setting up kitchen gardens in open spaces available at their homes.
The initiative was aimed at encouraging capital residents to grow their own vegetables at houses that would eventually save their money besides improving their health, Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat said on Wednesday.
The ICTA staff would convert roofs or ground having size minimum 10x10 square feet into a little farm on nominal charges whereby the house owners would be able to grow their own vegetables, he added.
After setting up the garden, he said, the administration teams would look after it for the period of three months and after that owners can manage it on their own or allow the administration staff to carry out look after responsibility.
The residents could start this practice as a small business, he said, adding, the input of Rs25,000 can yield a profit of Rs100,000 in just four months.
Through urban forestry the environment of the city would also be improved besides reducing the effects of global warming and increasing the green cover, the DC noted. Anyone willing to contribute in the project would also be welcomed, he concluded.
