‘PTI government will bring economic change in country’

Governor says foreign investment reflects confidence in policies of incumbent government

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led government will bring economic revolution in the country, said Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar. He expressed these views while speaking to a delegation of ‘Sach’ film led by former member of UK Parliament Tasmina Sheikh and Director Zulfiqar Sheikh in Lahore Governor House.

The film cast including Alizee Shaikh, Asad Zaman Khan, Ayesha Sana, MPA Sadia Sohail, MPA Musarat Jamshed Cheema, Naseem Viki, Cultural Journalist Foundation Secretary General Thakur Lahori were also present.

“The opposition is resorting to spreading negative propaganda on the national economy for personal and political gains but the nation will not be hoodwinked by it anymore,” he said.

He maintained that huge investment from Russia and China is the manifestation of their confidence in the policies of the incumbent government.

The governor further said that more than US$10 billion of investment by Russia and announcement regarding duty-free access of 313 Pakistani products to Chinese markets from January 1, 2020 is another big achievement of the PTI-led government on the economic front. Undoubtedly, China and other countries of the world are making investments in Pakistan as they have not only complete protection of their investments here but are also being provided with the best facilities, he highlighted.

The governor maintained that overseas Pakistanis have an important role in the economic development of Pakistan. “In order to resolve their problems, federal and the provincial governments are taking measures through overseas Pakistanis commission.”

The governor briefed that the PTI-led government is working actively for the promotion of tourism and culture.  “We will ensure the provision of security and other facilities to foreign tourists.”
