Minister vows to eradicate corruption

Langove says biggest problem of Pakistan at the moment is corruption but it is not limited to the country

QUETTA: Provincial Home Minister Mir Ziaulllah Langove on Sunday said the purpose of celebrating Anti-Corruption Day was to promote the eradication of graft from society as well as take steps to prevent it.

"The biggest problem of Pakistan at the moment is corruption but it is not limited to it [Pakistan] only. It is a global phenomenon,” said Langove in a statement on World Anti-Corruption Day. “By doing everything possible under the law, corruption can be prevented,” he maintained.

Langove said every act that goes beyond the legal, social, moral and religious rules and regulations can be perceived as corruption, adding that peace, development and security can be ensured by uniting against this menace.

"Honesty is essential to promote harmony among ourselves," he emphasised.

Langove added that social and economic injustice leads to confrontation of merit as corruption hampers lasting progress.
