QUETTA: Quetta District Health Officer Dr Saeed Mirwani has said over 294,000 women were vaccinated against tetanus during a recent campaign.

He added that the second phase of the campaign would take place from December 9 to 14. “The district administration, scholars, social workers, scholars and other must cooperate with the health department teams in vaccinating women,” he said during a meeting at his office held in connection with the campaign.

Dr Mirwani said the first campaign in Quetta district took place from November 11 to 16.  Women aged between 15 years and 49 years were vaccinated at all schools, colleges, universities and villages.

“The district was divided into 50 union councils for which 586 vaccinators were hired. They worked under the supervision of medical officers,” he added.
