Ssc Examinations: KIU announces results

14,730 students appeared in the examinations, out of whom 6,347 passed the exams.

Gilgit-Baltistan Karakoram International University (KIU) announced the SSC Part-II Examination Results for 2011 on Saturday.


As many as 14,730 students appeared in the examinations, out of whom 6,347 passed the exams. Out of these students, 8,020 were boys, while 6,710 were girls. Those who passed the exams include 3,538 boys and 2,809 girls.

Female students outperformed their male counterparts as they grabbed all the top positions in the region.

Abida Parveen, a student of DJ Girls High School Sonikot, topped the examinations in the science group by scoring 930 marks out of 1,050. The second position was obtained by Nida Zehra of Global Higher Secondary School Danyor, who scored 922 marks. Naureen Ali, who belongs to the same school, came in third by scoring 913 marks.

Similarly, Rida, a student of Girls’ High School Kashrote stood first in the arts group by scoring 764 marks, while Sharifa Batool from Girls’ High School Gilgit obtained second position by scoring 752 marks. Saira Begum from Boys’ High School Kwardo got the third position with 751 marks.

Yes there are several boys schools in skardu where girls also study...may be due to shortage of female schools.
