WhatsApp to launch dark mode feature soon

As the company is currently working on few updates to make sure that the feature is bug-free

The dark mode trend is slowly taking over social media platforms from Facebook, Instagram, and Gmail offering the same to now WhatsApp waiting to hop on the bandwagon.

According to wabetainfo, WhatsApp is currently working on a few updates to make sure that the feature is bug-free before it is officially launched and made available to users.

The messaging service giant started working on the dark mode feature soon after the development of the 'Set by Battery Saver' option.

Gmail finally goes dark again

In the latest beta update, once the dark theme is enabled, WhatsApp will display icons as a cell avatar.

There is a new VoIP screen along with dark elements that will activate once the user receives a call.

Instagram users finally get dark mode feature

The current WhatsApp avatar image is with a lighter green background however, there are design modifications being made to suit the dark mode theme like the matching dark green ribbon at the top.

The feature is rumoured to have been tested on iOS as of now and will soon be available for Andriod users on the Google Play store.
