LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said inept economic policies of previous rulers caused irreparable loss to the national economy.

Buzdar expressed these views in a statement issued on Sunday. “Those who got defeated in the general elections should first look into their own mistakes,” he added.

“Prime Minister Imran Khan and his economic team have set the national economy in the right direction in a short span of time after great hard work,” he said. “The opposition, which is trying to create unrest in the country, is itself suffering from instability and has no agenda of public welfare. Opposition parties ideologically opposed to one another are united for their vested interests.”

The governor said elements deprived of public support are suffering from confusion and distress, he maintained.

“The elements trying to create chaos will never succeed in their nefarious designs and the PTI government will not let durable progress being achieved in short period of time to become hostage to negative politics,” he asserted.

He also said the opposition parties only wanted to safeguard the corrupt elements.

“Opposition parties faced failure and then got united on their plan in order to conceal their corruption. They will meet disappointment and failure in future.”

Buzdar said the ongoing war against corrupt mafia would continue till achieving its goals. “Pakistan will advance forward under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan and the opposition parties will face utter failure and dejection. Over 220 million people of Pakistan have discarded the old Pakistan and now the new Pakistan is in the offing.”

The chief minister said the voyage of public service would continue unabated. “Those elements discarded by the public in the general elections have nothing to do with the problems of masses. These elements put national interests at stake for the sake of their vested interests,” the CM remarked.

He said for the first time in the history of Pakistan, a transparent government was setting new records of public service.

“The negative agenda of elements devoid of change will never succeed. Those elements doing politics on non-issues will have to face embarrassment and insult. Those who wasted the precious time of country and the nation will have to account for their looted national resources,” concluded Buzdar.
