Blame game: UHRCP blames Mirza for violence

KARACHI: Rana Faizul Hassan, founder and general secretary of the United Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, has called for a case to be lodged against senior minister Zulfiqar Mirza, stating that his statements provoked Thursday’s violence. He approached Sindh home minister Manzoor Wassan, IG police Wajid Ali Durrani, DIG South, Clifton SSP and other officials but was unable to submit the application. Hassan said that he would approach the Sindh High Court if the FIR was not registered. Clifton SP Tariq Dharejo, however, said that no such application had been received.
