Energy Savers: Monitoring energy consumption

LODHRAN: The Punjab government has decided to secretly monitor the implementation of its guidelines regarding reduced energy consumption. Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) officials recently issued a notice to the departments to reduce electricity consumption amid the energy crisis.  Officials said that a section officer had been deputed as conservation manager with the responsibility to inspect offices and monitor the situation regarding the implementation of Punjab government guidelines for electricity conservation throughout the province. The section officer will also ensure that all air conditioners in public offices are kept constant at 26 degrees Celsius.
