QUETTA: Provincial Adviser and Quetta Development Authority (QDA) Chairperson Bushra Rind has stressed on the need to educate women of the province and said that education and development are linked with each other.

"Educating women is mandatory for national development," the provincial adviser said, while addressing a session organised by the Civil Society Development Sector.

Rind said that Balochistan had been affected by terrorism, which negatively impacted the educational process.

"I belong to an area of Balochistan where most children do not attend school.  I had gone from house to house to create awareness about the importance of education," she said.

The QDA chairperson maintained that that she had founded a school, where children were imparted the best education and over 10,000 students had passed out from the institution so far.

"Balochistan is the most backward in the field of education and no serious effort for the purpose had been made in the past,” she remarked.

She noted that there was a dearth of schools for girls in the province and girls had to travel long distances on foot for acquiring education.

"Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has directed that our government takes best steps for imparting education," she said.

Provincial ministers, MPAs and members of civil society from all provinces were present on the occasion.
