WCLA Director General Kamran Lashari said, “The purpose of holding this three-day workshop is to gain knowledge by sharing each other’s experiences in the fields of heritage, tourism and culture. We will also be focusing on the readaptive use of conserved heritage sites and a business model for sustainable tourism.”
The main objective of this workshop will be to explore the opportunities of highlighting and prioritising heritage and tourism in Pakistan, marketing of specific sites and destinations, expanding tourism with specific package tours, learning from each other’s experiences in the field of heritage, highlighting the lessons learnt during conservation and preservation of different sites and developing a vision for better management of heritage and tourism in Pakistan, stated a press realese issued by the authority.
Speakers participating in the workshop include Sindh Archaeologist Kalimullah Lashari, Architect from Karachi Yasmin Lari, State Bank Museum Director Dr Asma Ibrahim, KPK Archaeology and Museums Director Dr Abdul Samad and others.
