Four FC men killed, several injured in Chamalang

QUETTA: At least four personnel of Frontier Corps (FC) were killed and several sustained injuries in a heavy battle with suspected militants in Chamalang area of troubled Kholu district in the early hours of Friday.

Sources said a group of armed men ambushed the convoy of FC engaged in routine patrolling and opened indiscriminate fire on them, killing four personnel of paramilitary troops instantly. The exchange of fire also left eight militants killed.

FC spokesperson, while confirming the incident, said eight miscreants were also killed in the exchange of fire. “Security personnel were on their routine duty in Chamalang when exchange of fire took place. Four security personnel and eight attackers were killed in retaliatory firing,” he added.

The exchange of fire lasted till Friday noon. “The security personnel threw a cordon in the area and launched a search.

Inspector General FC, Ubaidullah Khan paid a glowing tribute to those personnel who embraced martyrdom during the gunfight with militants. “The blood of our soldiers will not go in waste because soon forces will eradicate miscreants from the area and will make the area stable and peaceful,” he added.
