Quetta customs recover 2,000kgs of hashish
It [hashish] was hidden in plastic boxes under pipes inside the truck, says customs collector
QUETTA:
Quetta customs on Tuesday recovered 2,000 kilograms of hashish from a truck at Beleli check post.
According to customs collector Iftikhar Ahmed, the officials at the Beleli check post of Quetta checked a suspicious wheeler truck and during the inspection, recovered and confiscated 2,000 kilograms of hashish from its hidden cavities.
"It [hashish] was hidden in plastic boxes under pipes inside the truck," said customs collector as he briefed the media about the successful raid, adding that the seized hashish is worth Rs 400 million in the international market and was likely to be smuggled out of the country.
Racket of selling expired medicine
Ahmed affirmed that the Pakistan Customs is working diligently against drug smuggling, as this year alone it seized drugs worth billions of rupees, terming it a huge success. He insinuated that the group behind drugs smuggling in the province is a large one, however, the customs will continue to chase all such elements until they are completely eradicated.
Customs collector also praised the efforts of the police, FC and other departments for providing assistance.
