Police arrested 3,434 suspects in Larkana this year

Of the arrested suspects, 804 were proclaimed offenders

Larkana Senior Superintendent of Police Masood Ahmed Bangash said on Sunday that the police have arrested 3,434 suspects, including proclaimed offenders, absconders, drug peddlers and anti-social elements, during the last one year.

He disclosed the figures during a press conference on Sunday, where he said that among the arrested suspects, 804 were proclaimed offenders. Besides, said the SSP, 141 encounters took place with alleged criminals during the span, in which 41 suspects were arrested in injured condition, while 60 gangs were busted.

He further informed the media that a large number of arms were also seized by police, which included 12 Kalashnikovs, 147 pistols, 76 shotguns, 60 revolvers, rocket launchers, bombs, hand grenades, shells, and a large quantity of bullets.

The Larkana SSP further claimed to have recovered approximately 200 stolen or snatched motorcycles and five cars during the last one year.


He mentioned that during the crackdown against drug peddlers, eight kilogrammes of heroin, 465 kgs of hashish, 5,746kgs of cannabis, 1,438 bottles of liquor, 65kgs of opium, 1,300 grams of Ice, 500 grams of crystal and a large quantity of gutka was also confiscated.

He said that the Inquiry and Investigation Cell was also established by police to resolve the law and order problems faced by the residents. Moreover, Minority Cell and District Complaint Cell were also developed to help the citizens.

He said that out of the 7,000 registered complaints, 5,500 were resolved, while others were being investigated by the law enforcers.
