The counsel for the petitioner said since a two-member bench had already decided the matter, a large bench should be constituted to hear the matter.
He said the case should be heard soon as the construction work in the federal capital had been stopped. The people were facing problems due to ban on construction, he added.
A two-member bench of the Supreme Court (SC), comprising Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan, heard the case about encroachments in the Bani Gala area of Islamabad in the last week of October.
During that hearing, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) had submitted the revised master plan for the federal capital along with reports on encroachment in Bani Gala.
The Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) also submitted a report on encroachment.
