LHC orders CS to present IGP’s leaves record

Justice Qasim said contempt notice would be issued to IGP if he does not appear before the court on Thursday

LAHORE: Lahore High Court’s (LHC) Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan expressed his displeasure over non-appearance of Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Captain (retd) Arif Nawaz Khan on bail matter of an accused allegedly involved in different cases of theft and robbery.

Justice Qasim Khan summoned the Punjab chief secretary on November 14 (today) along with a record of leaves of the IGP when the law officer informed the court that Arif Nawaz was on sick leave.

Justice Qasim said that the contempt notice would be issued to IGP Arif Nawaz Khan if he does not appear before the court on Thursday (today).

No official could stop working until he or she is on leaves.

The judge ordered the chief secretary to appear on Thursday with the record of sick leaves of IGP Arif Nawaz Khan.
