Rule of law will prevail in Pakistan: CJ

Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that the rule of law is the only way of maintaining stability in the country.

Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that the rule of law is the only way of maintaining stability in the country.

He said this while addressing lawyers at the Quetta Bar Association.

The chief justice said that the rule of law and democracy are still intact in the country due to sacrifices made by lawyers. He also said that no one is above the law in the country.

The chief justice also said that significant progress has been made by the Balochistan High Court in the missing persons case. He said 95 missing peoples' applications have been registered so far.

Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry also said that the courts will make utmost efforts to return missing people to their homes.

While addressing a dinner in honour of the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Lahore High Court Chief Justice Khwaja Muhammad Sharif said that a lawyer made Pakistan and now lawyers are going to save it.

He mourned the target killings of doctors and teachers and vowed that lawyers are going to rally peacefully in protest.

Sharif said the Chief Justice of Pakistan has made the missing persons case his top priority.

Police on the indication of local high profile a case under section 406 Pakistan Penal Code was registered against a person aged 62 years,he was absolutely innocent because there is no documentary proof on the record but two interested witnesses,there was no recovery also despite of it he was kept on remind on 9 days and subsequently sent him jail where he remained 15 days and bailed out by session court. The question before us is that a criminal case against innocent person can be registered without any documentary evidence or proof ,kept in police custody for days further in judicial lock up,despite of all, charges has been framed against him,what kind of charges only statements of two witnesses ,interested with complainant, The fact is that complainant party used to business with his son,who has gone foreign country,complainant claim that some amount due to him ,but in place of the son father has been framed and now being forced to pay but he is penniless aged and helpless. It is doubtless to say that honorable chief justice of Pakistan is the man of history/century with references,but some time i think he is one in the field called rue of law with some other reliable fellows/ People of Pakistan love with him, he make the judiciary's moral high in the country but need to do more because destination of justice in Pakistan is still far but beyond the approach. Judiciary is a balance wheel of whole system. the day of justice is better than worship of one thousand years.

Syed A. Mateen | 13 years ago | Reply The problem is that there is law but only poor people are required to implement on the law and not the rich and mighty people. The day rule of law will be enforced in the country irrespective of discrimination among the rich and the poor, rule of law will prevail in Pakistan. It was also the dream of Quaid-e-Azem Mohammad Ali Jinnah but the rich and the corrupt started breaking the rule of law. Today law is been purchased in the country in lieu of money. The day rule of law will be fully implemented; no body will dare to break the rule. Rule of Law is made so that people should implement, not to break. Mostly people when they break the law they think that they have done some thing extraordinary, but offenders should face the back lash. We need to train our Police in a way that they should only think to implement the rule of law in the country. If it happened so, Pakistan will become Jannatul Nazeer.
