Formula One: ‘Don’t get carried away’

ROME: Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo has warned his team to keep their feet on the ground after Fernando Alonso ended an 11-race losing run for the Italian Formula One outfit at Silverstone. Before Sunday’s British Grand Prix triumph Ferrari last tasted Formula One success in South Korea last season, with Alonso taking the chequered flag that day. “You were good, you showed how to react to difficulties, you didn’t lose your courage, you succeeded in improving in every area,” said di Montezemolo. “But now, keep your feet on the ground, as we’re used to doing because we know what winning is all about.” The two-time former champion’s Silverstone win pushed him up into third in the drivers’ standings, 92 points behind Red Bull’s defending champion Sebastian Vettel.
