Dengue prevention body formed in Punjab

The dengue core committee will review monitoring and implementation committees, working from provincial to town levels

LAHORE:
Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Mohammad Usman constituted a core committee regarding dengue prevention and control in the province, said Institute of Public Health (IPH) Dean Dr Zarfishan Tahir.

She stated this during the first meeting of the committee on Tuesday at IPH.


The core committee would review different monitoring and implementation committees, already working from provincial to town levels, the dean added. She maintained that it would re-allocate responsibilities of these committees, to ensure effective monitoring of dengue teams working in the field besides proposing concrete steps for prevention and control of vector-borne diseases in the province. For this purpose, a checklist would also be prepared, she highlighted.
