‘Efforts afoot’ to counter security challenges: Govt

Finance Secretary Noorul Haq Baloch said the govt has allocated major funds for development schemes

QUETTA: Balochistan Additional Chief Secretary Haider Ali Shikwa has said the provincial government was increasing security forces resources to enhance its capabilities to meet security challenges.

“Gradually the law and order situation has improved across Balochistan. And the provincial government is increasing security forces resources to build its capabilities to counter future’s security challenges,” Shikwa said while briefing the participants of National Security and War Course on Friday.

Government officials spoke about the law and order and economic development in Balochistan during the meeting.

The additional chief secretary said: “Many armed groups in the province have been crushed.”

On the occasion, Finance Secretary Noorul Haq Baloch briefed the participants regarding development schemes and sustaining economic growth. He told that the government has allocated major funds for development schemes.“Fiscal budget for 2019-20 has been finalised after keeping in view provincial needs,” he said.
