Police arrest rapist of minor

LAHORE: Model Town Investigations police claimed to have arrested a suspect involved in the sexual assault of a minor girl in Naseerabad a month ago. The suspect, identified as Fazal Abbas, assaulted a minor when she was alone in her house.

After the incident, the accused managed to flee. The issue was highlighted and came into notice of authorities concerned after family, relatives and neighbours of the victim staged protests on Ferozepur Road.

The protestors blocked the road for traffic. An investigation team of Anti-Gender Based Violence Cell launched investigations into the matter. Police also included all the suspects, including former record holders, neighbours and relatives and conducted DNA and polygraphic tests.

Recordings of all available CCTV cameras were also obtained and analysed on the routes around the house of the victim.

Model Town SP Investigations Asad Muzzafar said that the police are investigating the matter further.
