DCO Azmat Mehmood has imposed a ban on the sale of fire works and fire work materials on the eve of Shabe Baraat. On Wednesday, Mehmood imposed the ban under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code and said that anyone caught selling or using fireworks would be arrested and fined. The district administration has also directed police officers to take legal action against anyone involved in the activity and to closely monitor the district over the next 24 hours.
