KARACHI: A Canadian couple was sent to jail for overstaying their visit visa, by the Judicial Magistrate East Javed Iqbal Malik on Wednesday. Barnett Nathaniel and his wife Hillary Nathaniel were arrested on Monday from Mill street, within the limits of Soldier Bazaar police station. The police lodged an FIR (165/2011) against the couple under the Foreigners Act of 1946, Section 14. According to the police, the couple arrived in Karachi on April 5 and their visa expired on July 4, 2011. The court has put them in jail custody till July 26.
