Ghani made these remarks while addressing a seminar organised by the PAF Karachi Institute of Economics and Technology (KIET) on Monday. He said there was a time when people used to come to Karachi from other parts of the country to seek quality education, but now the situation had changed as people were leaving Karachi in pursuit of higher education.
According to the minister, there is a dire need to structure the education system in such a way that if on one hand, it can help the students gain suitable employment, on the other hand and more importantly, it could also play a role in the character building of our students.
The information minister said that Karachi had an important role in Pakistan's economy, adding that any government or national institution could not function well until the general public or citizens support it completely. He said that almost the same number of incidents of street crimes took place in London regularly as in Karachi, but the same was not being reported in the UK as was being done here.

According to Ghani, while we must ensure the elimination of evils, we have to cover them as well. The provincial information minister said that five years ago, Pakistan was at the 5th position in the list of countries with the highest crime rate, but now its position had improved to the 70th. "This proves that the situation was improving due to the sacrifices of the personnel and officers of our security agencies," said Ghani. At the end of the ceremony, he distributed prizes among the students of PAF KIET, who won various competitions.
Visit to affected areas
Later, Ghani visited the areas affected by the sudden emergence of seawater, including Chashma Ghoth, Rehri Goth and Lath Goth. The provincial minister inspected the situation in these areas and issued necessary directives on the occasion.
"We want to relocate the residents of these affected areas to temporary camps but the people here are not ready." The minister said that they were trying to convince the residents of these affected areas to move to temporary camps set up by the government for a few days so that there was no casualty in the event of an emergency.
Ghani said that all the relevant institutions, including the provincial Disaster Management Authority, were fully prepared to deal with any emergency situation. MNA Syed Agha Rafiullah, Provincial Minister for Human Settlements Ghulam Murtaza Baloch, district council chairman Salman Abdullah Murad, and the Malir Deputy Commissioner accompanied Ghani during the visit.
