Looks like the Harvey Weinstein media circus isn’t quite ready to slow down.

Just a couple of days after British starlet Rose McGowan slapped the Hollywood mogul with yet another lawsuit, claiming he and his team had been trying to discredit her initial allegations of sexual harassment, Weinstein has come under the spotlight yet again. This time, it is because a female comedian and two other women who dared to call him out directly at an actors’ event in New York were booed-out of the venue, reported Vox.

As per the first reports, the film-maker had been invited by the event’s organisers. Weinstein, who has been accused of sexual harassment and rape by dozens of women since McGowan first accused him and kicked off Hollywood’s #MeToo movement, was attending Actor’s Hour - a monthly gathering for artists at the Downtime Bar on the Lower East Side.

Comedian Kelly Bachman called out the disgraced producer during her set. “I didn’t know we had to bring our own Mace and rape whistles to Actors Hour,” she said as part of her act, during which she also called Weinstein “Freddy Krueger” from the Freddy v Jason horror films.

Then, actor Zoe Stuckless and comedian Amber Rollo were thrown out for confronting Weinstein, who sat at a reserved table with his entourage, reported BizBash. Stuckless, 21, reportedly went to the table and said, “Tell me, what’s your name?” A man accompanying the film-maker replied that it was none of her business. “Nobody is going to say anything? Nobody is really going to say anything?” she then asked the audience, after which she was lead out of the venue.

Alexandra Laliberte, the organiser of Actor's Hour, told BuzzFeed News this was the second time Weinstein had turned up to one of her events. She added that they don’t have a security team and rather than turn him away, she thought the community could address him. When asked why she allowed Weinstein to attend an event specifically intended to support and encourage young actors when he has been accused of sexually assaulting and harassing dozens of them, Laliberte replied, “I protect them by freedom of speech.”

A spokesperson for Weinstein told The Hollywood Reporter that the producer “was out with friends, enjoying the music and trying to find some solace in his life that has been turned upside down. This scene was uncalled for, downright rude and an example of how due process today is being squashed by the public.” They added, “Harvey in fact suggested the woman should be allowed to talk and ask him any questions. The venue’s personnel asked the woman to leave - not Harvey’s.”
