QUETTA: Balochistan Livestock Secretary Dostain Jamaldini has said the government would provide camels to livestock owners in remote areas of the province.

“The government is using all resources at its disposal to provide basic facilities to livestock owners,” he said during a visit to a camel farm and a civil veterinary dispensary in the Jangian area of Washuk district.

Deputy Director Dr Mohammad Ashraf Essazai briefed the secretary about the progress achieved in the area.

Punjab govt to make livestock sector profitable

Jamaldini said the construction of the camel farm would be completed in time. He directed the divisional director to present the report of the damaged building of the civil veterinary dispensary soon so that it could be reconstructed.

“Livestock breeding, particularly that of camels has been affected because of the recent drought,” he noted.

“The camel farm will help increase trade. The veterinary dispensary will ensure that livestock are provided with treatment.”

The livestock secretary said the camel farm was the only one of its kind in the region. Camel milk will be packed and supplied to other parts of the country.
