So brave of Jami on breaking his years long silence. Yes, not all #MeToo victims are women, some of them Men too and they also need the same support and help from society.

Filmmaker Jami reveals he was raped by a powerful person of Pakistani media industry https://t.co/f8Kl5vnQwe

Jami has been very vocal about abuse in the industry. In his own story though, he didnt take any names, still the ghairat brigade is hurling insults at him and defending the not so unknown perpetrator. Asking for proofs from a rape victim whos speaking out after 13 yrs is bs #Jami https://t.co/Y0WQuWNMSk

We all stand with #jamimahmood We admire his courage to speak up, this step has put a fear in many of those rapist and harrasers who think they can get away with it. #jami has given many victims strength today. #metoo https://t.co/tmUFo8wWfZ

Jami Moor - one of the great and well known directors from Pakistan, even his sad story can't get published by leading news outlets here. Now think about the victims without such influence being harassed/raped by these 'media giants'

So sorry to hear this brother @jamiazaad. Now most of us (men) will turn against you. Please ignore them and stay brave. #metoo #jami

#Jami 's story might not look exactly like the story of most of the children in our society, but believe me, sexual harrasment is majorly underreported, the cases we see aren't even the tip of the iceberg. This society needs a bloody revolution.

It's sad, cuz it seems that everywhere you turn, you find a #MeToo Takes a hell of a lot of courage to come out & sometimes the years that pass by don't make it any the less easier to face the truth. More power to the ones that have broken the silence #Jami https://t.co/JLdWolaKaC

The director later took to Twitter and expressed gratitude for overwhelming support he has received.
"I'm just overwhelmed by so much care and love. I cant thank reply individually as its now in thousands. I'm learning to shut up so here quickly my sincere love to u all and I hope we all saved even if one soul then our work is done here," he wrote.

Previously, Jami shared that he is “writing this now because #MeToo is under attack and I’m ready to partially vomit out my own experience. It’s all true what the victims say and how they say, or hide. It’s all an exact same pattern.”
The director who has aggressively supported #MeToo related protests such as the one against the Lux Style Awards concluded by saying that he knows the consequences of his revelations but it was important for him to share since the legitimacy of the movement was being questioned.
“I know, now they all will attack me as well. ‘Oh, why you stayed quiet till now? Rape kur deita na usska pulut kur (You should’ve raped him as well,” he said. “But, its time.”
