Overboard: 16 PML-N workers arrested for firing

Three people were injured by the firing in the rally on Monday, including a woman and her three-year-old daughter.

The police have rounded up 16 PML-N workers on charges of firing in the air during a procession on Monday.


The police have registered four cases in Police Stations Jhang Bazaar, Gulberg, Rail Bazaar, and Kotwali, under Sections 337 H/2, 427, 148, 149, and 16 MPO.The FIR registered at the Gulberg Police stations names city president of PML-N Sheikh Ijaz Ahmad, while vice-president, Tahir Jamil is named in the FIR registered at the Rail Bazaar Police Station.

City Police Officer Rai Tahir said that the people firing in the rally would be arrested without any discrimination. Three people were injured by the firing in the rally on Monday, including a woman and her three-year-old daughter.
