Judicial remand of Sanaullah extended

With direction given to quarters concerned to produce his mobile phone call record data

LAHORE: The Anti-Narcotics Court judge extended the judicial remand of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Punjab Rana Sanaullah by November 2 with direction to the quarters concerned to produce his mobile phone call record data.

The Anti-Narcotics Force produced the accused of his alleged involvement in a drug peddling case. As case proceedings started, the counsels of Sanaullah told the court that his mobile phone was confiscated at the time of the arrest.



He had also stated before the magisterial court that he had been brought to the police station at gunpoint by ANF officials. They contended that Sanaullah's mobile data was not being produced. The network company said they would provide data only if the court sends a request.

“Do you have an official cell number or personal,” the judge asked the investigation officer? Sanaullah replied that he had a personal number.



The ANF requested the court to initiate a proper trial. The judge observed that a duty judge could not frame charges against him. Therefore, the judge rejected the ANF's request for framing charges against Sanaullah.
