Lt-Gen Ashraf stresses need for education

Says Balochistan has eleven cadet colleges where thousands of students have been receiving “quality education”

QUETTA: Commander Southern Command Lieutenant-General Waseem Ashraf has said education serves as the ladder for development and prosperity of any nation, adding that without education there is no possibility of progress.

“Those nations, which didn’t focus on education, are facing backwardness today. The rising trend of girls getting enrolled in schools and colleges in Nushki is a good fortune for our future,” he said while addressing a ceremony organised in Cadet College Nushki on Wednesday.

Lt-Gen Ashraf said: “Students are future of our nation. We can earn a good name for our country by working hard in different fields, including sports, education.”

He added that Balochistan has as many as eleven cadet colleges where thousands of students have been receiving “quality education”.

On regional importance of Balochistan, he said that after the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project the province has become an economic hub of the entire region. “Pakistan’s economic future is connected with Balochistan,” said the commander.
