A senior PML-N delegation will meet JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to share party chief Nawaz Sharif's message and finalise a strategy regarding the forthcoming anti-government protest, party leader Ahsan Iqbal has said.

The JUI-F has announced that it would march on the federal capital on October 31 in an attempt to overthrow the PTI government which it alleges has come to power through rigging. Opposition parties, however, are in two minds over joining hands with Fazl.

“Nawaz Sharif, in a letter to Shehbaz Sharif has shared a comprehensive roadmap for PML-N, directing the party to take Maulana Fazl into confidence on the party's course of action regarding 'Azadi March'," Iqbal told a press conference following a party's consultation meeting headed by the PML-N president on Saturday.

He said Nawaz wanted PML-N to play an important anti-government role in the prevailing scenario when "the economic situation is worsening by the day".

It is rumoured that the PML-N is divided over the planned protest, with Shehbaz Sharif opposing the idea.

However, Iqbal refuted the reports, and asked the media to not become party to any "propaganda" against the PML-N.

"There is no division in PML-N," he said, adding that the entire party had confidence in Nawaz's leadership.
