Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone revealed on Thursday that she is launching her closet for a cause on her website deepikapadukone.com in light of World Mental Health Awareness Day.

The Piku star, who is an active speaker on depression and mental health issues, took to her social media account and announced her fans can now share her closet.

Deepika shared the video with her followers and captioned it, "To each and every one of you, this World Mental Health Day I am delighted to announce the launch of The Deepika Padukone Closet where you can shop and own some of my most favourite pieces from my wardrobe! Lots of Love, Deepika."

While some thought it was a great initiative to support those who are struggling with mental health, others begged to differ.

"Apart from helping you make (more) money, how is this going to help people with mental health issues? Genuine question," one user wrote.

"I don't know about you but this seems extremely exploitative," added another.

"How is this relevant to World Mental Health day? A sales pitch?" tweeted one user.

"She did it. She cured mental illness."

"Seriously, you've used this day, this hashtag wrong. Being in marketing I get it, but honestly World Mental Health matters more than using a trending hashtag for your own benefit," penned one user.

One more added, "How is mental health related to this! This is business."

"You opening up about mental health issues was a very important moment in the global conversation. This, not so much," said another.

While we understand the actor's sentiment behind the initiative, many argued she could have simply donated her clothes rather than making money from the general public.

What do you think about Deepika's latest venture?
