Pakistan team departs for Greece to participate in 2019 Socca World Cup

Men in Green will be competing for silverware against teams from 40 countries

The Pakistan contingent on Thursday departed from Karachi for Crete, Greece to participate in the 2019 Socca World Cup.

The 6-a-side tournament is hosting teams from 40 countries this year for the second edition.

Pakistan's contingent is comprised of 13 players, assistant coach Gohar Zaman (former Pakistan national team coach/manager), head coach Kevin Reeves (Former Stoke City and Manchester United coach) and team manager Zabe Khan (also the Deputy COO Operations of Leisure Leagues Pakistan).

The event will take place between October 12 and 20, 2019.

“This year, Leisure Leagues Pakistan aims to perform better at the global level and wave the green flag amongst the European football giants of the sport in the stadium at Crete,” read a Leisure Leagues Pakistan press release.

Leisure Leagues is the world's largest organizer of mini-sided football leagues, having successfully organised leagues in the UK, the US, Ireland, Slovakia, Germany, Mexico, France. Leisure Leagues launched in Pakistan in 2016.

After a short span of almost 3 years, Leisure Leagues is now operating in 78 cities across Pakistan with more than 10,000 players playing regular competitive leagues.

Leisure Leagues Pakistan has the honour of being the founding member of International Socca Federation (ISF) with Shahzaib Trunkwala being the Vice President of the federation. ISF has more 80 countries as its members.
