Mardan police catch 44 land grabbers

He said that action will continue against the elements threatening the future of the youths including drug sellers

TAKHTBHAI: Mardan police is continuing to crackdown against criminal elements including land mafia and drug sellers. During the past two weeks, police arrested a total of 44 suspects involved in land mafia, sale of drugs and illegal money lending. Meanwhile, chief of a land grabbing group was nabbed and shifted to district jail DI Khan. DPO Mardan during a briefing to media maintained that the grand operation is being carried out throughout the district under the leadership of SP Mushtaq Ahmed. During the raids, police have seized 82 kilograms of marijuana, 6.2 kilogram of ice and about 4 kilogram of heroin, he said, adding that the police also nabbed chief of a land grabbing group under the Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance (MPO) before sending him to DI Khan jail. He said that action will continue against the elements threatening the future of the youths including drug sellers, land mafias and private lenders. To achieve this objective , 632 welfare centers, 34 mobile service and 31 reproduction health center are established and from them the services and facilities are provided to the people for their reproductive health.
