KARACHI: Traffic police have formed a district level anti-encroachment squad. Traffic DIG Javed Ali Maher held a meeting in his office on Monday which was attended by SSPs, among other officials. An anti-encroachment squad was formed for each district of the traffic police. Traffic SSPs were directed to take action against hawkers, push-carts and other encroachments obstructing the flow of traffic. The district anti-encroachment squads will implement these directives and ensure uninterrupted flow of traffic. They will also be in charge of taking action against public transport vehicles producing smoke or commuting despite unsafe conditions. Similarly, the DIG directed action against illegal seven or nine-seater rickshaws as well.
