Minister seeks WB support in Naya Pakistan project

Discusses matters pertaining to the construction of low-cost housing units

LAHORE: Minister for Housing and Urban Development Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed met with a delegation of the World Bank and discussed matters pertaining to the construction of low-cost housing units in Naya Pakistan Housing Project.

The minsiter said the implementation of the project was underway in Punjab. He said according to the project plan, housing units of five and three marlas would be constructed. Also, there is a plan to construct high-rise buildings in major cities including Lahore, Faisalabad and Multan.He said he would appreciate the World Bank's  suggestions and technical support. regarding the construction of low-cost homes.

Members of the World Bank delegation were also briefed about various ways of contribution by the private sector with regard to the construction of houses in the Naya Pakistan Housing Project.
