Baba Guru Nanak Week celebrations to start Nov 7

Information secretary says event will promote message of love and peace

LAHORE: The Baba Guru Nanak Sahib Week celebrations will start on November 7 at the Alhamra.

To discuss arrangements, the second preparation review meeting was held at Alhamra Arts Centre, the Mall on Monday.

Provincial Information Secretary Raja Jahangir Anwar chaired the meeting and appreciated the efforts of the Punjab Information and Culture Department in arranging the event.

Sikh pilgrims from all over the world are coming to Pakistan to participate in Baba Guru Nanak Sahib’s week-long birth celebrations. Anwar said that the Punjab Information and Culture Department is fully prepared to welcome pilgrims. “The event will not only promote the message of love and peace but it will also promote the positive image of Pakistan in the world.”

Three-day rituals of Baba Guru Nanak's death anniversary come to an end

Lahore Arts Council Executive Director Athar Ali Khan said that the council is utilising all the resources to celebrate the Baba Guru Nanak Sahib Week. A number of programmes, including a Sufi music concert and seminar, will also be organised.

Executive Director Punjab Arts Council Saman Rai said that Sikh pilgrims who are coming to Pakistan from all over the world to celebrate the 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Sahib, will also be invited at Guru Nanak Sahib’s Week celebration at Arts Councils across Punjab.
