Expedite anti-locust sprays, says DC Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Deputy Commissioner Dr Shahzad Tahir Thaheem directed relevant officials of the Thar district administration on Friday to expedite anti-locust spraying to prevent damage to crops. Presiding over a meeting with officials of agriculture extension, revenue and other line departments, Dr Thaheem said that vehicles with spray teams were sent to areas where the presence of locusts was reported. The government is taking measures to eliminate the insect before it inflicts damage on crops, he added.
