PPP leader chides govt for power tariff
Said the ‘selected’ government is deviating from its pre-election commitments
PESHAWAR:
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Women Wing Provincial Information Secretary Mehr Sultana has criticised the government over its decision to increase electricity tariff. In a press statement realease on Friday, PPP leader said the ‘selected’ government is deviating from its pre-election commitments. She added the incumbent rulers had made promises before the election that if they will get chance to form the government then they will construct new dams to make electricity available to masses at cheap rates. However, since the incumbent PTI government has come into power, they have increased twice rates of electricity, petroleum commodities rates and imposed new taxes, which are directly affecting the poverty-hit masses and has opened floodgates of inflation and caused unemployment in the country, pushing the masse into more trouble. PPP leader said the PTI government is least bothered to resolve the masses issues on priority basis and to relieve them. Sultana while commenting of the party’s co-chairman detention said that PPP leadership cannot be freighted by such weak tactics. She said the government is offering deal but PPP will not bow before the government because the party always came into power with support of the masses and high mandate.
