Suspect booked for bribing police in Rawalpindi

A person named Syed Tariq reached the station and offered a bribe of Rs10,000 to police against the release of Ikram

RAWALPINDI: Bani police arrested a suspect who came to the police station and offered them bribe against the release of a drug peddler. City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Faisal Rana hailed the honesty of police officials of the related police station and expressed that nobody was above the law. Police said they arrested a drug peddler named Ikram and moved him to Bani Police Station. Later, a person named Syed Tariq reached the station and offered a bribe of Rs10,000 to police against the release of Ikram. At this, the investigation officer also arrested Tariq and registered a case against him under sections of bribery. CPO Rana hailed the station staff for this honest act and said that nobody should dare to challenge the supremacy and writ of law. He added that action against supervisors of criminals will continue without any discrimination.
