RAWALPINDI: National Institute of Health (NIH) rejected the congo virus as the cause of death for a female teacher who died in a private hospital on Friday.

According to the report issued by NIH, the report was negative as there was no sign of the Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever Virus (CCHFV) virus in the decease’s blood sample.

The victim, Ayesha, who hailed from Adyala Road, was brought to the emergency department of a private hospital after she suddenly went unconscious. The patient died after remaining under treatment for seven hours. The doctor looking after the patient had alleged that she was suffering from a very high fever and different parts of her body were bleeding, all of which were symptoms of the Congo virus. He had recommended that the family bury the deceased at the earliest.

After this claim, the victim’s blood sample was sent to NIH for examination however the institute released a report of yesterday rejecting the congo virus as the patient’s possible cause of death.
