Strike in Abbottabad hospitals

Over 80 operations scheduled in the three hospitals postponed, OPD services at a standstill

ABBOTTABAD: Complete strike was observed in all the three hospitals of Abbottabad city, Ayub Medical Complex Hospital, District Headquarter Hospital and Women and Children Hospital while the strike was also observed in the Havelian Hospital on the call of provincial doctors association to show unity with Doctors of LRH Peshawar against the manhandling by the Peshawar police and also the alleged privatisation of the provincial hospitals.

‘Emergency wards of six hospitals to be upgraded’

More than 80 operations scheduled in the three hospitals were postponed and patients coming for flung areas of the district badly suffered while in the complex, ration of patients was in thousands coming from all over Hazara division as there was no OPD service and normal activities in the hospital were at a standstill.

Dr Daud Iqbal Provincial secretary of the Peoples Doctors Forum demanded judicial inquiry of Peshawar incident.
