ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has departed for Islamabad after a brief stay in Jeddah and will reach the capital on Sunday evening.
The Prime Minister's Office confirmed the premier's departure from Saudi Arabia and he is expected to land in Islamabad around 4pm.
PM Imran, accompanied by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and the foreign secretary, is returning on a commercial Saudi Airlines flight - SV 722.
On Saturday, the prime minister for his journey back to Pakistan on a commercial flight from the New York’s JFK Airport.

He was seen off at the airport by Pakistan's permanent representative to the UN Maleeha Lodhi.
Earlier, the aircraft carrying the prime minister and his delegation back to Pakistan was rerouted to New York due to technical issues, reported Radio Pakistan.
The airplane experienced some minor technical faults when it was near Toronto.
Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Saifullah Niazi said party leaders and activists would gather at the New Islamabad Airport to greet the prime minister on his return from his successful US visit.
"PTI activists and supporters will reach the airport in the form of caravans from across the country," he added.
PTI leader Aleem Khan said a grand reception would be organised at the airport.
"Prime Minister Imran Khan has made history through his powerful speech at the UN General Assembly. All Pakistanis should head to the Islamabad airport to greet him."
