SEPA seals factory for causing air pollution
The residents of the area had complained that the factory was burning coal to make raw iron which caused pollution

The Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) sealed a factory in Kemari on Friday for causing excessive air pollution. The step was taken following directives issued by Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister on Law, Environment and Coastal Development Barrister Murtaza Wahab.
The residents of the area had reportedly complained that the factory was burning coal to make raw iron which caused pollution. The residents claimed that a number of eyes, skin, liver and respiratory diseases had broken out in the area, especially among children.
SEPA officials, led by Deputy Director Waris Gabol, carried out a raid on Friday and concluded that environmental laws were being flouted.
