RAWALPINDI: A car of unidentified suspects almost ran over policemen at a picket on Katchery Chowk within Civil Lines police station remits in early hours of Wednesday.

SSP Potohar Syed Ali briefed CPO Faisal Rana that the car and its driver have been identified and would be arrested shortly. Police said that Muhafiz Force personnel saw a car running a red light and signaled it to stop. Instead, the driver rammed his vehicle into policemen and their motorcycles, leaving a policeman Yasir Bhatti with minor injuries.

On impact, one of the police bikes got stuck under the car and the suspect dragged it along for many kilometers heading towards Rawat. People saw a car dragging a bike underneath, with sparks flying due to friction, but nobody did anything fearing for life.

Finally the fugitive car hit a rut near Soan Bridge causing the bike to dislodge from underneath and skid sideways.
