IGP visits Chunian

LAHORE: I am reviewing the progress on the murder case of innocent children in Chunian on daily basis, said Punjab Inspector General of Police Arif Nawaz Khan. “The operation to arrest the murderers is being further expedited utilising all available resources and the latest technology.” He expressed these views while giving directions to the officers during his visit to Chunian, Kasur. The scientific method of investigation is adopted and under suspicion individuals, DNA and other forensic test are underway, he added. On this occasion, JIT and CTD teams briefed the IGP, on which he directed the teams to further speed up the investigation process ensuring punishments to the culprits involved in violence against children and rape on the basis of zero-tolerance policy. A daily progress report of the case must also be sent to the Central Police Office, he further added. He also directed to complete the process of DNA tests of the persons arrested under suspicion along with using modern investigation techniques, latest technology, geo-fencing and information and cooperation from special branch and other agencies.
