Pakistan expects foreign investment in tourism sector

Tax holiday will be offered to foreign investors

ISLAMABAD: Massive foreign investment is expected in the tourism sector as the government is focusing on developing it on a priority basis, said Board of Investment (BOI) Chairman Zubair Gilani.

Talking to APP, the BOI chairman said that the government planned to invite foreign investment in the country for establishing tourism zones in northern areas including Swat, Galyat, Hazara region and Gilgit-Baltistan.

“Tax holiday will be offered to foreign investors in the tourism zones for attracting high foreign direct investment aimed at economic stability and growth of the country,” he said. He underlined that the government would ensure provision of all modern facilities for the tourists visiting these zones.
