For Android users, they can set the entire system to the dark theme by going to the theme tab in Gmail settings and selecting the dark version as an option. This will also enable users to save battery.

For iOS, options are the same as Android depending on the version you have. Users can either select the option manually through Gmail settings or can change the theme of the phone and the service will automatically take that as a cue to change the mode to a darker one.
