CDD trains students in first-aid 

Instructors give first-aid and fire safety guidelines to students in case of fire at home

RAWALPINDI: Rising tensions in Kashmir and war rhetoric of hostile neighbour has increased the importance of civil defence training for young people, said Rawalpindi Civil Defence Department officials on Thursday. CDD has started civil defence and first-aid training in education institution to help youth respond in cae of emergency, said CDD District Officer Talib Hussain. “First-aid training is essential for everyone these days,” he said during a training session at Government Girls Degree College Dhok Mangtal and adjoining educational institutions on Thursday. He said that the department had launched a massive programme for students in the direction of the government. CDD instructors gave first-aid and fire safety guidelines to students in case of fire at home. The teams also replicated administering of first-aid to victims injured in a catastrophe while the female students also wrapped bandages around the arms of other female subjects. Hussain added that educational institutions would be targeted in the first phase whereas union councils (UCs) would be targeted in the second.
