ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has underscored the need for tapping the huge potential of Pakistan in the tourism sector. Chairing a review meeting on the New Balakot City Project on Monday, he said the development of tourism hubs at various tourist sites would not only highlight the country’s tourism potential but would also lead to creation of greater job opportunities. The prime minister was apprised of the New Balakot City Project and the way forward towards addressing legal, administrative and financial issues, which had stalled its progress. The meeting also centered round the strategy to transform the new city into a tourism hub and a modern business and residential city. Appreciating the efforts being made to revive the stalled project, the PM said the location of the new city carried huge potential for attracting domestic as well as international tourists and would thus contribute significantly to the national economy.
